Belly Casting

belly cast

Belly casting is a fun and unique way of documenting your “bump” in the final weeks of pregnancy.  We are excited to offer this service to the women of our community. Many families proudly display their belly casting in their home, while others line it with a lambskin and use it as the baby’s first bassinet.  We suggest you have fun and use your cast to celebrate the miraculous work your body is doing in order to bring forth new life.

Our belly casting service includes all supplies, light refreshments, and a shower afterward if desired.  The process takes about an hour from start to finish and the drying process takes another 3-10 hours. If you choose to have your cast painted the end product will take a bit longer.  It can be done as quickly as 24 hours but during a busy period may take up to two weeks.

We are now offering belly cast painting by mural artist Rian Chandler-Dovis.  Rian gave birth to her daughter, Cora, at Brookhaven Birth Center in January of 2011.  Since then she has graced our walls with several whimsical, fun, and detailed murals.  We have partnered with Rian to offer this additional service to add an exciting, individual, and unique personal touch to each cast.  Rian bases the price of the artwork on the detail, design, and time involved.  She will go over ideas and provide a rough draft and final price before she begins the work.

Traditional Pregnant Belly Casting cost: $95
Brookhaven clients: $80

Decorating/painting of belly cast is an additional $30-$75
