Micknai Arefaine, born and raised in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is an apprentice at Brookhaven Midwifery and Birth Services. With a background in community health and birth work, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care. Her commitment to reproductive justice is further demonstrated through her work as a doula with the Community Doula Program and her involvement in curriculum development for the CDP-Community College Democratizing Doula Training Project. Micknai's passion for maternal and newborn health care is evident in her ongoing training to become a Certified Professional Midwife, aiming to provide safe, supportive, and empowering care for families in her community.
